Credit Card Benefits

Credit Card BenefitsDuring holidays, people are relaxed and often forget to take some precautions that will allow a few days of quiet and uninterrupted. Although payment card can be more efficient and useful than cash and checks, it is important to consider the following tips:

When traveling, carry your credit cards.

Call the customer service department of the issuer of your credit card to inform you about additional benefits for travelers, such as car rental insurance and coverage for personal items.

Before leaving, check the expiration date of your card to ensure they do not expire during your vacation.

Make sure you know the personal identification number (PIN) for your card, and remember that only the cardholder can provide the personal identification number. It is also recommended that you test your card and PIN in the country of residence before departure.

Memorize your personal identification number, in numbers and not as alphanumeric identification, since many foreign ATMs only display numbers and not letters. Never reveal your PIN to anyone.

Keep on hand a list of phone numbers and payment cards for mobile in case of theft or loss. It’s a good idea to have a copy of all documents that you always carry in your wallet and store them in a safe place where you’re staying or at home.
